History and culture come alive when you visit Santa Barbara.  Known for its breathtaking beaches and abundant vineyards, this California icon also boasts a collection of meticulously preserved historic landmarks, whispering tales of the city’s past. And when you vacation here, there are many options when it comes to your accommodations, from quaint beachside villas to extravagant modern oceanfront beauties.  But there is nothing like experiencing the magic of decades past by staying in one of our historic properties.  These charming treasures promise an unforgettable vacation, with a unique blend of old-world elegance and modern luxury.

The first stop on our trip back in time is at Casa Azzurra.  Situated perfectly in the hub of the famous West Beach neighborhood, you’ll find yourself in the heart of it all.  State Street, the Funk Zone, and the pier are just a short walk from your door.  And this historic home, constructed in 1904, is steeped in history.  You’ll love the period architecture and loving renovation.  And with 3 separate bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, it’s suitable for up to 6 guests looking for an enjoyable staycation experience where all you need are your flip flops! Just kick off those sandals and relax at this truly amazing home away from home.

As an added bonus, we welcome you to bring along your non-shedding four-legged friend for your stay.  We also provide a pack and play portable crib and high chair for guests traveling with infants and small children.  And with its close proximity to all that Santa Barbara has to offer, there is truly no need for a car when you stay here!

Our West Beach Villas 3 and 4 are another gem of Santa Barbara history.  Constructed in 1937 and nestled on a half-acre lot, these quaint beauties are also located in a prime location in West Beach.  This one-of-a-kind Streamline Moderne is both featured in numerous books and magazines and also part of the walking street tour each week. Surrounded by breathtaking beaches and the harbor, you’re just moments away from a variety of activities, festivals, restaurants, bars and cafes.  These beautiful villas have been professionally interior-designed to capture the 1930’s and 1940’s unique style, while using local treasures so all guests can enjoy unwinding while taking pleasure from their private oasis. These have been featured in numerous books and magazines, and you’ll feel like you were transported back in time as you relax on your stay here.

You’ll find everything you need for the perfect vacation, from linens to a fully-stocked kitchen that is ready for you to enjoy with friends or family.  Plus you can enjoy the expansive, private backyard patio area boasting fruit trees!  Though it has a ton of historic charm, it has been upgraded with modern amenities, as well, so that you can enjoy the conveniences of home on your getaway. You can rent the properties as a combination of the two villas, offering 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, as well as two kitchens.  Or you can rent them individually.  West Beach Villa 3 is a downstairs 1 bedroom/1 bathroom unit with a king bed.  And West Beach Villa 4 is an upstairs/downstairs unit with 2 bedrooms (king sized beds), 2 bathrooms plus a full size futon!

In Santa Barbara, history isn’t just a story; it’s an invitation to experience an exceptional vacation and create lifetime memories.  And as you pack up to bid adieu and reflect on a getaway to one of these time-honored properties, you’ll realize that you have not just stayed in a home; you’ve immersed yourself in a living, breathing chapter of Santa Barbara history.
