Get ready, Parrotheads, Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band are coming to the Santa Barbara Bowl. Tickets are on sale now for the Oct. 16 concert that continues the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the album, “Son of a Son of a Sailor.”
The Son of a Son of a Sailor High Tide Tour is sure to include the fan favorite and Grammy Hall of Fame inducted song, “Margaritaville” and attendees will also likely hear the famous LP hits, “Cheeseburger In Paradise,” as well as “Livingston Saturday Night” and “Cowboy in the Jungle.”
Buffett is a legend for his signature beach bum persona and laid-back sound with tropical-themed lyrics. The Broadway musical “Escape to Margaritaville” opened in 2018, in which Buffett is credited with the show’s music and lyrics. But long before that, the song “Margaritaville” launched a string of “Margaritaville”-themed restaurants, stores, and of course, frozen-margarita machines.
Even after five decades of music, Buffett is still going strong. Director Harmony Korine’s 2019 release “The Beach Bum” features a cameo of Buffett and also two songs on the soundtrack.
