Santa Barbara’s Earth Day celebration is touted as one of the longest running in the country, now in its 49th year. It’s also said to be one of the largest, hosting 200 eco-conscious organizations and business exhibitors and welcoming as many as 30,000 visitors.

SB Earth Day festivities start Friday evening with a new concert, beer & wine garden

The event kicks off with a new, Friday evening concert with a beer and wine garden between 5-9 p.m., April 26, then activities continue through Sunday for a full weekend of live music, speakers, food booths and family-fun activities.

Walk or bike to Alameda Park for Earth Day 2019

Highlights include the annual “Green Car Show,” featuring ​the latest electric and hybrid vehicles. There’s also a complimentary bike valet, which includes free tune-ups.

The Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival is organized by Santa Barbara’s Community Environmental Council (CEC), whose mission is to “identify, advocate, and raise awareness about the most pressing environmental issues in the Santa Barbara region.” The event is free to attend and will run Friday evening-Sunday, April 27-28, at Alameda Park.
